HSS Early 70's Fish, 6'.4" x 21.9" x 2.8" PU Orozco

This is the template board that Hobo Surf Society will develop under its own brand.  $645 with Keel fins and leash.

The early 70's fish refer to the short, wide twin-fin fish boards that were ridden during the early 1970s.  

Typical characteristics include:

• Outline: Very wide through the center with a full nose, providing excellent paddling and speed.
• Tail: A deep swallow (split) tail, which creates two points that increase hold while maintaining the loose feel of a short board.
• Rails: Fuller, forgiving rails that carry speed through flatter sections.
• Bottom: Generally flat to slightly rolled or with a subtle vee near the tail on early versions.
• Fin setup: Twinn Keel

How it rides

• Generate speed easily without much pumping.
• Excel in waist- to head-high waves.
• Feel loose and skatey while still holding through carving turns.
• Catch waves much more easily than a narrow shortboard.

Unlike modern high-performance shortboards, these boards emphasize flow, trim, and stylish arcs rather than vertical surfing.
