D Street Board Room is North County’s most unique surf shop, offering high-quality surfboards at prices that make sense.
We carry a wide variety of boards, surf gear, and merch—all designed to help you have the most fun in the water, no matter your skill level.
Meet the Founder
When you step into the surf shop, you’ll quickly see that it’s more than just boards and gear—I also run my private equity business from the same space. It’s an intentional blend of two passions, both driven by purpose and community impact.
My private equity work has focused on raising capital and managing assets for housing nonprofits to acquire non-performing mortgage loans and distressed residential real estate—serving underserved communities nationwide. Over 90% of the properties acquired and repurposed were designated as affordable housing, with many sold to low- and moderate-income families and first-time homebuyers. During the Great Recession, we helped families remain in their homes through loan modifications—because homeownership is one of the most powerful paths to building generational wealth.
With D Street and our HSS brand, I’ve carried that same mission into the surf world. The surf industry has become overpriced and exclusive, driven by expensive name brands. We don’t sell them. Instead, we design and produce our own line of high-quality boards, gear, and apparel—keeping prices accessible without sacrificing performance.
We’re not selling hype—we’re building a community. Because owning your first surfboard should feel just as empowering as owning your first home.
